For those members who haven’t been to Sowerby Institute before, it is a little awkward to find:
Sowerby Institute, The Flatts Sowerby, Thirsk, North Yorkshire YO7 1LY.
The easiest place to park is in Thirsk Market Place, and then walk to the Institute as there is no car parking at the Institute .
Head West along Castlegate Street (Same direction as the Yorkshire Bank, or left as you are facing the town clock).
The street takes a sharp left turn and you should then see the Ritz Cinema at the end of the next straight bit.
Adjacent to the Cinema is small electrical appliance shop and there is an small tarmac path that runs down the side of this shop. Go down this path and the Institute is a single story building set back on your left hand side after about 50 yards.
