2020 Fishing

As things stand at the present moment you will not be able to fish the Cod Beck for the foreseeable short term future, perhaps longer.
Most of you have renewed your membership although some have yet to renew, perhaps worried about Covoid virus.

It seems unfair to have taken membership money and not to be able to guarantee any fishing.
So, our New Chairman and Secretary have authorised me to say we are going to right-off this season.
This means that those of you who have renewed will get free membership next season. And if current circumstances improves, some fishing this season.
To those who haven’t renewed you will still be offered membership for next season when, hopefully, life becomes a little more normal.

The Angling trust is working hard to try get angling approved as solitary outdoor activity, statement from them below.

Take care, stay well and keep your distance.

Hope to see all of you next season.

Nigel

Statement from Anglian Trust.

We must all do what is required of us by the Government and work together to fight this pandemic. Therefore until further notice we should all refrain from fishing. This is about saving lives and supporting the NHS.

In regards to the current restrictions announced by the Government on Monday 23 March 2020 it is clear that the only permitted activities that have been specified are walking, running and cycling for the purpose of local daily exercise. Today we have written to the Sports Minister highlighting the benefits to both physical health and mental well being that angling provides and that we are ready and prepared to offer whatever support the government or Sport England require now or in the future to get people back fishing as soon as is safely possible.
